AFRICAN AMERICAN COLLECTIVE THEATER (ACT) MARKS 32nd ANNIVERSARY WITH LATEST LGBTQ+ SHOWCASE FESTIVAL
Washington’s African American Collective Theater (ACT) continues into its fourth decade with the latest installment of a program that has become an annual spring tradition in the District.
Over twenty-five talented, local “ACT’ers” – some familiar faces, some new – present Readers Theater-type performances of short plays, on
Sunday, May 26, 2024, with a matinee at 4:30 pm and a different show that evening at 7:30 pm.
Audiences can choose either show…or attend one, break for dinner, then rejoin us for the other.
Inspired by, and mounted in observance of, DC Black Pride Weekend, the festival unfolds downtown at the Undercroft Theater, in the lower level of Mount Vernon Place Methodist Church at 900 Mt. Vernon Place, conveniently located diagonally across the street from the Westin – host hotel for the 2024 DC Black Pride Weekend festivities.
